There are very few of us who haven’t suffered from a lack of confidence at one time or another. Many people work round the problem by avoiding situations where their lack of confidence is going to be an issue. That’s a useful strategy in the short term, but can also hold back your self-development and achievement for years, or even a lifetime.
Lack of confidence may stem from all kinds of sources, including social phobias and anxieties. It can also express itself in many different ways, such as a fear of exams, interviews, public speaking or going on dates, or as shyness or embarrassment.
