What are the benefits of a Carbon Laser Facial?
A carbon laser facial can do a lot for your skin. One of the ways in which it can help rejuvenate it is through the removal of pigmentation from sun damage and acne. The Carbon Laser Facial also acts as an anti-ageing treatment. You will be able to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, making your skin appear younger and less marked. How does the Carbon Laser Facial Work?
During a Carbon Laser Facial at The Mind Body and Soul, a layer of carbon gel is applied to the skin, where it penetrates deep into the pores. As the carbon dries, it attaches itself to dirt, oil or dead skin cells on the surface of the skin.
Once dried, the carbon is then introduced to our laser. The light from the laser is highly attracted to the carbon particles applied to the skin. The carbon absorbs the light energy from our laser, causing it to vaporise. You will hear an audible' crack' as the laser makes contact with the carbon. However, this is nothing to worry about and is just the sound of our laser vaporising the carbon.
As the heat from the laser is pulsed deep into the skin, the skin’s natural healing process is activated in its deeper layers. Cellular turnover is stimulated, and fibroblasts are ignited to begin regenerating collagen and elastin. Once the treatment is complete, the regenerative results will continue.

During your Facial
Before your Carbon Laser Facial begins, we will clean the skin and apply a thin layer of carbon paste to the face. This will quickly absorb any contaminants trapped in your pores and exfoliate the skin while reducing inflammation from any blemishes.
During treatment, a laser will pass over the skin’s surface, instantly breaking down the carbon and absorbing any impurities from the laser's heat. Once the laser has sufficiently passed over the face, we gently remove the carbon mask with our short pulse Q-Switched laser.
The Carbon Laser Facial is a relaxing procedure that simply requires you to sit back and unwind. Your skin will be left plumper, firmer and soft to the touch. You’ll also notice a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles straight away and a much more even skin tone.
After your Facial
After your Carbon Laser Facial is complete, you should avoid waxing, threading or plucking the hairs on your skin for a week, as well as exfoliating.
After the facial, you should also avoid strenuous exercise or make-up application for around 24 hours. If skin appears pinkish initially, this is also nothing to worry about and should fade away after an hour or two. For maximum results, you should have around 6 sessions spaced 4 weeks apart.
